I bought these to feed my otocinclus and siamese algae eaters. The waters have a green inner disk surround by a brown disk. The fish would only eat the green disk and leave the brown remnants in the tank. So I removed the brown part, it breaks off easily. It is a waste of food, but the Tetra Pleco food is by far much cheaper then Hikari Algae wafers which I also use. Even the other fish (neon and cardinal tetras, black neons) won’t touch the brown part. At least the brown part does not dissolve and is easily siphoned out of the tank.

The quality of the food is great and my plecos of all sizes love it. I have also found that is considerably less expensive to buy this product on Amazon than at the large box pet stores.
