- Combined Kit – The perfect trifecta of essential Scratch and Peck Feeds to get your new chicks off on the right foot and is the best choice for chicks for the first eight weeks.
- Scratch and Peck Starter Feed – A special blend of cracked organic grains, organic flax meal, and select vitamins and minerals is appropriate for chicks 0 – 8 weeks and ducklings 0-4 weeks with enough nutrient-rich formulation to continue their journey toward becoming layers or meat birds.
- Scratch and Peck Chick Grit – Made up of insoluble crushed quartzite or granite, grit remains in the bird’s gizzard to help with digestion. Grit is an essential part of your bird’s diet and should always be provided, especially if there is no access to small rocks.
- Scratch and Peck Organic Herbs – The herbs in this mix have been selected for their known beneficial attributes and natural preventative properties. The xanthophylls in the calendula flowers deepen yolk coloring in eggs, and nettles have been known to increase eggshell strength when used regularly.

I don’t write a lot of reviews, but felt the need to review this product. I’ve raised hundreds of chicks in multiple states on a variety of different feed products. This is by far the best chick feed I’ve ever used. Combined with the herbs and grit in this kit, my chicks are the healthiest I’ve ever raised and they love it! I feed it soaked in water for 30 minutes, and dry. They love it both ways. Additionally, my family has multiple chemical and food sensitivities, and with this feed we can now eat our eggs without worry.
I’m not related to this company in any way, but feel they definitely deserve the full five stars and plus some. Excellent product! It’s worth the extra money.

Chicks seem to like it and do well with it; but I like it more because of what’s in it (or NOT in it)! I do not want corn or soy in my chick/chicken food, so this seemed like a good choice. They started out with another brand name and I slowly switched them to this. I love that it comes as a kit with the grit and herbs!!! I tried switching their grit for a cheaper one with probiotics and the chicks didn’t like it and one threw up, launching style, so I went back to this brand for grit, also! I’m really impressed with this company and what they offer for my chickens! I’m in it for the long run as long as they don’t start changing things.

I love getting my chicks off to a great start. I’m a first time chick owner and wanted an organic NON GMO chick starter and feed line to raise my 11 Bantam chickens. This is the company for me. I live here in the PNW and love that it is sustainable and a local farm. Extra bonus on day 7, I had a expert who has been raising and showing bantam chickens for over 50 years and he was very impressed with the feed and how healthy the baby chicks are, I only had 1 very mild case of pasty butt. I highly recommend this line of feed to everyone!
