    The concept is wonderful.
I purchased two and with both I had one of the legs collapse nearly every time I changed the water.
Also the clips to hold the water container are weak plastic and half of them broke.
I wouldn’t recommend buying this brand if you are using larger water containers.

I am so happy to have these stands! I needed to raise the chick’s feeders up to keep so much pine bedding from getting in them. The feeders I already have fit the adjustable stands perfectly. Even though the water and feed still gets dirty from all the chick activity of scratching around (and going potty) having the feeders raised has really helped keep them cleaner.

The stands fit a wide variety of chick feeder and bowl sizes. I didn’t think that a couple of the bowls I have would fit because they are smaller in diameter than the stands but they do! The directions say if smaller to reverse inserts (that hold the feeders in place) on the stand and it worked. I have included photos of the inserts both ways.

The legs have 2 height options. Right now the lower option works for my 4 week old chicks. When they were younger I totally collapsed the legs to just raise the feeders a little. The stands also work well in height for my adult bantam rooster.

These stands are just what I needed and it gives me peace of mind that the feeders will stay cleaner while I am busy doing other things.

Update: the legs don’t lock when open, so a few times now that the chicks are larger they have collapsed one leg in the lower position, causing the stand and feeder to tilt. It works best when the legs are either not used or fully open. I am gluing the legs in the open position because I really like this otherwise.

  3. Neely

Love these BUT the legs should have someway to lock in place otherwise they get kicked by chickens and legs collapse by folding in .

In some products, the limitations I will discuss, would have warranted a 3 star review, but I just think these are so darn innovative. This coming from a lifelong poultry fancier.
The base(top of stand) is very sturdy, and the brackets to “contain” the feed or water device, snap crisply into place. The legs unfold at three different levels, actually giving four settings if you include the base with no legs open. My limitation I spoke of is the structural design of the top leg when open. There is a spot where the leg is rather thin for the weight it might have to support. If the legs are on a surface that is at all slippery, They want to splay outward, stressing this thin area. Now on a surface that the legs cannot slide, There is really little stress here. Just an area that I would like to see improved.
All that said I am very happy with these and am anxious to put them to use.

much easier to elevate the water for my chicks than just randomly rigging some stuff from around the house 🙂

  6. Sherryl Schmidt

These stands are really useful. I use them to elevate the chicks’ feeders and water, so they don’t get as much poop in them. I appreciate that the stands have two height options – I’m currently using the lower one since my chicks are still young, but I can raise it when they grow bigger. The stands seem sturdy and durable, and they have significantly helped in keeping the food and water clean from poop.

  7. Flutterby

The legs are a little flimsy and my chicks can knock it over, and the standard chick feeders and waterers you get from tractor supply aren’t wide enough to really lock in place either. I also wish there was an in between between the ground and the first height. Only because I have some d’Uccles with my bigger chicks and they’re too small to get up to the fist level properly haha

I think it will be better once I can open it more. Still wish the legs locked.

This set is nice for those feeders that I own that do not have their own extension. Before that was more of a standard practice and many feeders come with the fold in legs now. These extensions are sturdy and lift the feeders just enough to keep the food from being wasted and the water from getting dirty. It’s a helpful add on for growing chicks.
