Thought I would try to order chicken feed online. Not doing it again. Price is to high for the bag you get.

I have 70 Mallard ducks that fly into my front yard twice a day with some periodic additional visits. My main distributor for their food suddenly failed and I go through about 250 pounds a WEEK! I was desperate, and let me tell you, to have them show up, and I can’t feed them breaks my heart. A couple of the ones who were born and raised in my front yard, comes up on the porch and looks through the screen. So I turned to my trusty Amazon and ordered this. This is almost like brown grit and dust, I feed them in dozens of bowls with a lot of fresh water. They wouldn’t touch it, and when they drank the water I ended up with brown mud on my grass. I was able to use up one 25 pounds mixing in a little bit with chicken scratch, but I have 75 pounds apparently I’m not able to return, which is taking up room and I can’t do anything with it. I also have dozens of other types of birds including ducks and even pigeons I feed. NONE will eat this.

The neighborhood Muscovy ducklings are growing strong on this mixture. They love it, and mama lets them partake. She feeds when they’re done.

I think the price is incredibly high on this product which is most likely the crumbs from processing the pellets the company might carry but either way, my flock seems to love these crumbles. I am purchasing my second bag and hope that I get a good one. I read some reviews where there was mainly dust in the bottom of some of the bags so hopefully that will not be the case with me.

It’s hard to find quail food and this mixture is meant for different types of laying birds. It’s a good size for a group of quail because they don’t eat as much as chickens so it lasts a little longer. The price is reasonable. It doesn’t have an offensive odor and comes in a resealable bag.

Ok, this smells alike the baby chick food, so my old hens love it. There’s no fun seeds in it so they don’t sift though it all wasting it to find one seed. I hate when they toss out 2 cups of feed for 3 sunflower seeds and it rains and rots the wasted food. So, I stopped getting them the fancy schmancy stuff because they were doing just this. Then, They went on food strike and wouldn’t eat the pellets, got crabby with each other holding out for scratch and veggies. Spoiled. Anyway with this, I mix in the egg layer stuff and it smells enough like their food, is small enough they’ll eat it and there isn’t any goodies in it that they spill and waste it all. It’s perfect balance for regular food but sometimes it arrives too finely milled and is a bunch of powder which can clog up the feeder. This is for 3 birds so I can’t imagine how frustrating it would be for langer, heavier feeders. However this is 3x I’ve bought it and I’m pleased enough that I’ll buy it again and sorta sift out the powdered crap. Some bags are more powdered than other so far.
I hate scammers –
Originally rated this poorly as no feather creatures would touch this, but I already ordered this three more times for a momma duck and her ten babies. They devour this and are growing really quickly and healthy. This is though a mixture of crumbles and what is basically dust. I try to separate the dust and on the day of feeding make a kind of oatmeal for them.
The book was a gift and he really liked it –
