Used these in the chick brooder, and they worked perfect for 6 baby chicks. Til I was able to move them into the coop. Moved them up as they got bigger, and was able to keep the water and feed clean.

I was VERY DISSAPOINTED with this product. I have purchased these from other sellers, but thought I would try the “cheaper” version in hopes that they would work equally well. Boy was I wrong, and I will be returning them.
First of all, these seem VERY cheaply built and I doubt they would last a full season, especially if they were exposed to weather/sun, etc. Secondly, they were difficult to assemble. In particular, the feeder was cheaply built, and I wasn’t able to get the two pieces to lock together. Lastly, the design of the harness was super wierd. The harness hook was massive, and not connected to the strap. The hanging strap was much too long, and not adjustable. Consequently, it was nearly impossible to adjust the height of the waterer / feeder as my chicks grew.
I guess I’ll stick with ordering the hanging harnesses that I have ordered in the past. They may be a bit more expensive, but I’ve been using them for over 5 years with no problems. They are also adjustable, and are highly rated on Amazon.

I have these plastic mason jar feeder and waterer I bought years ago at my local farm supply store. I had to improvise for the feeder jar by putting a wire around the collar and tying string to the wire which goes ‘up’ the sides of the jar and is tied together to a small S hook. The strings migrate around the jar and it’s annoying when the rowdy chicks knock it and it hangs lopsided and spills that precious chick starter food.
I finally sprung for this set as it seemed to solve all my problems. The harnesses for the plastic mason jar holds snug and the fabric is stitched well. Two large S hooks come with the set.
I only have two gripes. The part of the harness which goes around the collar of the jars is too wide. This makes screwing on the bases just bit challenging. I should not have to exercise any amount of patience assembling these IMHO. The other complaint is really not fault of the manufacturer. I wish they would have included another set of S hooks and short lengths of small diameter chain link. I know I can get these at my local hardware store, so no problem, just an inconvenience.
I will still use this set in my brooder box as they are far more superior to my homemade hack job. They securely hold the feeder in my ‘teenage’ sized brooder box. I had to discontinue using the hanging water one b/c they would spill the water out if they got spooked.
I imagine if someone had sewing skills and a heavy duty needle and/or sewing machine, it’d be easy to make your own harness set for these plastic mason jars.

Fits perfectly in my little chicken coop. Plenty of food and water for the day. Do take up a lot of space and stay clean longer because they are off the ground. My ladies love them.

We just acquired 6 to 8 week old chicks. (Swedish Flower Hens) This is the best system I could find for a small number of chicks. (We have three). They are doing great! There is limited waste and the feeder and waterer stay clean. I love having the food and water hanging. The system has worked extremely well for me.

Works great for chics helps keep food and water a little cleaner longer. Somehow they still find a way to get it dirty but these helped alot. Just needed a little chain to get it as low as I needed
